What Costs Do Sellers Usually See?
Your main costs are usually:
- Real estate commission (how I'm paid is in the Seller Representation Agreement, explained before you sign)
- Your lawyer's fees and disbursements
- Paying out your mortgage (ask your lender about any payout or discharge charges)
- Moving costs
- Small prep costs, like paint or cleaning
Property tax or condo fee adjustments can also show up, depending on the deal. Your lawyer gives the exact statement for your sale.
